Ever since the first robot was introduced in 1961 we’ve been hearing that robotics would be the next industrial revolution. As someone who has been involved in the robotics and automation industry for more than four decades I feel comfortable declaring that the revolution is finally underway! Every industry is now looking at automating with robotics, due to advances in the technology, reduction in costs, and global demographic trends producing a shortage of workers in so many industries. Today, robots are frequently connected to other machines and systems in the modern workplace, a trend that will accelerate going forward.
